The Firm regularly advises on litigation centred around property and family-related disputes as part of civil litigation. We advise on and assist in all aspects of such civil disputes, from strategy prior to filing a suit through to securing a final decree. We also handle associated matters such as the enforcement of decrees and settlement negotiations when required.

We regularly advise on and handle matrimonial disputes and matters on divorce, alimony and custody. Our team is also experienced in advising on the criminal aspects arising out of matrimonial disputes such as domestic violence and dowry demands or other forms of cruelty or harassment. Key highlights

  • The Firm regularly advises and represents Maharaja Jyotiraditya Scindia, the present Minister for Civil Aviation and the son of the Late Madhavrao Scindia, who ruled the erstwhile princely state of Gwalior, on property disputes arising out of the succession to the sovereign estate. The Firm has represented and advised Mr. Scindia on matters pertaining to these property disputes, which are pending in the courts of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Delhi. 
  • The Firm also represented and advised on property disputes, involving the erstwhile Princely State of Baroda. Ultimately, the disputes were successfully settled. The Firm continues to represent Mr. Sangramsinh Pratapsinh Gaekwad in disputes arising out of deeds of joint venture executed for the development of Laxmi Vilas Palace property at Vadodara and the Meherangadh Palace property in Mumbai. 
  • The Firm advises on property disputes pertaining to properties that formed a part of the erstwhile Princely State ruled by the Holkar royal family of Indore. The Firm successfully represented the Khasgi (Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Charities) Trust, Indore in these disputes before the Hon’ble Supreme Court.
  • The Firm advises and represents Mrs. Usha Jain and Mrs. Pooja Jain in family litigation pertaining to the distribution of the estate of Late Mr. D.K. Jain, the founder of the Luxor group of companies.
