  1. Karanjawala & Company, Advocates is a partnership firm established under the laws of the Republic of India. It has its registered office at the 9th floor, Hindustan Times House, 18-20, Kasturba Gandhi Marg, New Delhi – 110001. In this Privacy Policy, the use of the terms “we”, “us”, “our”,  “K & Co.” or “the firm” refers to Karanjawala & Company, Advocates. 
  2. K & Co. respects the privacy of the visitors of this website (www.karanjawala.in) (hereinafter referred to as “Website”). We are committed to safeguarding the privacy of anyone who accesses and uses this Website. 
  3. This Privacy Policy (“Policy” or “Privacy Policy”) explains how we process, use, protect, and share the data collected via this Website. This Policy does not apply to any data collected by us in the course of our business or via offline or other online channels. 
  4. Please read this Policy carefully as it sets out important information relating to how we collect, use, and share your data and your choices and rights regarding our use of your data.

  1. Please note that for the purposes of our Privacy Policy, references to “visitor”, “user”, you“, “your“, and “yourself” refer to any natural person aged 18 years or above who is competent/capable of contracting within the meaning of the Indian Contract Act, 1872.

D. What data do we ‘collect’?

E. How do we use your data?

The data collected by us/provided by you/provided by third parties is processed only for the purposes which are reasonably expected, i.e., for the proper administration of the Website, improving the Website, managing our client relationships, complying with legal obligations, responding to your general enquiries, providing legal services when requested, for recruiting associates/interns, etc. 
  2. The firm will always process data collected based on your consent and in compliance with a legal/statutory/regulatory obligation.

    2. Legal/statutory/regulatory obligation & compliances;

F. How we may share your  data 

  1. We do not sell, trade, publish, or otherwise transfer your data to outside parties unless we provide you with advanced notice and obtain your prior consent. This does not include our trusted service providers, , or law enforcement agencies. 

Third-Party Service Providers 

  1. Occasionally, we enter into contracts with carefully selected third parties so that they can assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, serving our clients, et al. You hereby give us your consent to transfer your data to our trusted third-party service providers. Our contracts with such third parties prohibit them from sharing/using any of your personal data for any purpose beyond the purpose for which it is shared. Each of our third-party service providers has their own terms of use and privacy policies, to which they are bound.  
  2. –We do not have any direct advertising on our website and we do not share your data with any advertisers.

  1. We may disclose your data as required by any legal or regulatory body in order to protect your, our, others privacy, safety , or rights.

  1. K & Co. may share data in its control or possession with a third party in the event of any reorganisation, merger, sale, assignment, transfer or other disposition of all or any portion of our business, assets, etc.

  1. We take the safety of your data and its confidentiality very seriously.  We disclose your data to third parties only for the purposes stated in this Privacy Policy, in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

We use appropriate technical, administrative, organisational, and physical data security safeguards to help protect against loss; or accidental or unlawful destruction and loss; unauthorised access/use/modification/disclosure of data, mainly where the processing involves the transmission of data over a network, and against other unlawful forms of processing. 
  3. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet or data storage system can be guaranteed 100% secure. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure (for example, if you feel that the security of any account you might have with us has been compromised), please immediately notify us of the problem by contacting us (our grievance officer’s details have been provided below). We have established procedures to deal with any suspected data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.
  4. Notwithstanding anything contained in this privacy policy or elsewhere, K & Co. shall not be held responsible for any loss, damage or misuse of any data processed by us.

H. Storage of your Data and Retention Period 

  1. If you have provided us with your data pursuant to employment opportunities or internships and have joined us in such capacity, we will retain such data on so long as you retain that position with us and thereafter, for a minimum period as provided by applicable law. If you do not join us after the application, we may retain your data for a minimum period as provided by applicable law and as is necessary for our purposes to consider you for future opportunities.
  2. Apart from the reasons mentioned above, we may retain your data for legitimate purposes, such as to satisfy our legal and professional obligations.

H. Restriction of Access to Data 

  1. As per the terms and conditions of use, K & Co. has the right to restrict any user’s access from the Website and the services offered (“Restricted User”). With respect to a Restricted User, K & Co. will delete any or all user data given by the Restricted User. Suppose K & Co., by its sole discretion or due to a legal requirement, decide to retain the user data for its records. In that case, K & Co. will be responsible for safeguarding that user data to such extent as required under applicable law.

I. Children’s data 

  1. K & Co. does not knowingly collect or solicit data from anyone under the age of 18. 
  2. If you think your child/ward under 18 has provided any data to us, we strongly encourage you to contact us at grievance@karanjawala.in and we will do our best to remove such data from our records promptly. 

J. Links to other websites 

  1. This Website may, from time to time, contain links to other websites of our partner firms, , affiliates, or any other websites. If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that their privacy practices may differ from ours. K & Co. does not share any of your data with these websites. If you submit your data to any of these websites, your data will be governed and processed in accordance with their privacy policies.

K. Grievance officer 

  1. Recognising the significance of data protection, K & Co. has appointed a data protection officer/ a grievance redressal officer who is well versed in the organisation’s internal data privacy policies and practices. You can contact the Officer for any query regarding the same, including any concerns about how we process your data, to report a security breach, or if you require any other assistance regarding the Website. L. Dispute Resolution 

  1. The applicable law for any dispute arising out of, or in connection with, this Privacy Policy shall be the laws of the Republic of India. The competent courts in Delhi, India, will have exclusive jurisdiction over any or all disputes arising from this Policy. 

M. UPDATING THIS PRIVACY POLICY 

  1. K & Co. reserves the right to change, modify, or update this Privacy Policy at any time. In case of any change, both material and non-material, it will be marked on top of the ‘Privacy Policy’.
